American Heart Association Services – BLS

American Heart Association Training Available through Innovative Health Solutions

Innovative Health Solutions currently offers two American Heart Association BLS Training Services. IHS staff are certified, experienced instructors in all programs.

Basic Life Support (BLS)

The American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support (BLS) course is designed for healthcare professionals and those in medical or clinical roles who need to recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies.

This certification meets most employer requirements for:

  • Nurses, CNAs, and medical assistants
  • EMTs and first responders
  • Dental and medical office staff
  • Hospital and clinical personnel
  • Students in healthcare training programs

Participants will learn how to:

  • Perform high-quality CPR on adults, children, and infants
  • Use an AED effectively and safely
  • Recognize and respond to cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, and obstructed airways
  • Operate as part of a team in multi-rescuer scenarios
  • Implement the Chain of Survival and improve patient outcomes
  • Provide care using bag-mask devices and practice proper ventilation techniques

Hands-on practice, group interaction, and real-time feedback from an AHA-certified instructor help build confidence and skill mastery. Upon successful completion, participants receive a two-year American Heart Association BLS Provider certification card.

HeartCode® Blended Learning – American Heart Association

HeartCode® is the American Heart Association’s official blended learning format for certification courses like Basic Life Support (BLS). This flexible training option is perfect for busy professionals who need to complete their certification on their own time—without skipping the hands-on experience that builds real confidence.

How HeartCode Works:

  1. Complete the Online Course
Participants first complete the interactive online portion through the American Heart Association. This self-paced module includes videos, knowledge checks, and realistic case scenarios to help learners understand and apply emergency response skills.

  2. Schedule the In-Person Skills Session
After finishing the online module, participants attend a brief hands-on skills session with an AHA-certified instructor. This in-person session includes practice and testing to ensure mastery of BLS techniques.

  3. Receive Your Certification
Upon successful completion of both components, participants receive a two-year American Heart Association certification card, identical to what’s earned in a traditional classroom course.

HeartCode is ideal for:

  • Healthcare workers with tight schedules
  • Hospital staff renewing certification
  • Clinical students and professionals needing flexibility
